What an amazing couple of days we’ve been enjoying weatherwise. Breakfast outside on the patio both days followed by lazy hypnotizing hours listening to birds, enjoying reading, playing on electronics, listening to more birds and basically hanging out till we are ready to head off on one errand or another. A retirees paradise for sure.
We enjoyed a marvellous walk around the subdivision and the surrounding countryside yesterday. All kinds of greenery popping up through the earth and in a few days I’m certain we’ll be posting photos of beautiful wild flowers. After lunch at home Pat, Gary and myself headed off to Estoi to pick up Gwen and run an errand in Tavira. So gorgeous driving through the mountains with the sea glistening off in the distance.
Marc had opted to stay at home as he had lost his glasses on the beach yesterday and his eyes were a bit tired, which is why our first stop of today was……………….
New spectacles will be ready in a few days and he will be a happy man again. It’s quite challenging living in prescription sunglasses, especially when those of us around him have been singing Pretty Woman everytime he walks in the room!!!!!! (Roy Orbison, for those of you who don’t know what I’m implying).
From there, lunch then another lovely walk on the Faro Beach. We are keeping our promise to ourselves to enjoy as many beach walks as we can.
One of the things I enjoy about the Faro Beach is that it is still a working beach and it’s a delight for me to see the fishermen working on their nets and other gear. I love that they wave at us.
We walked for a lengthy period till we arrived at one of the boardwalks that permitted us to circle back towards the main part of the island but through the tiny village of huts.
And so another wonderful day is coming to a close……….Marc prepared a wonderful soup for dinner, Patricia is finishing off a load of laundry, Gary is finalizing a jigsaw puzzle and here I sit………a grand and wonderful life we live.
Ooooh love the shell you are holding Randy! Soooo pretty! So jealous, would love to be watching that beach with all of you! In a way I am through your blog…Tanks for that. xox

I have to say that I had a good chuckle today at your Roy Orbison comments today & Pat will remember. She was here in 1999 with me & I was playing an Aaron Neville Xmas CD. I asked her what she would like to hear next & her reply was ‘anything except Roy Orbison’ – good memory that still makes me smile.
Great photos as usual – love the beach as well.

Joan, that is way too funny as Pat told us the same story just yesterday!!!!! Clearly it made an imprint on you both.

Loved all the photos of the four of you at the beach, exuding such happiness! Weather does look supreme!
I was feeling empathy for the wee one-legged bird as I approach my knee-replacememt, at least, I’ll still have 2 legs!
Looking forward to seeing handsome Marco with his new specs! xoxo

Funny you should say that as the bird reminded me of you as it scurried along the beach……..I think it was the wiggle!!

Wow, I have never seen a hydrangea tree, bushes yes but a tree, Wonderful. Poor little bird, looks like a sanderling, about 7″? The colourful boat is beautiful and I love the photo of the village by the sea. My favourite photo is “Mister & Mister”, you look so happy and in love! Count your blessings, we are a lucky generation!
