Another year has started for us and that usually provides us with a time to reflect on the year that is closing. When I look back on my year, I haven’t a single thing to complain about. All the people I love and care for are still here, I have a wonderful person with whom I share my life, I want for nothing, every day I wake up with a smile in my heart and every night I go to bed with a smile on my face. Grateful is what I am for 2019.
Today the sun is shining, the birds have been quite busy and vocal all the day long and we opted to hop in the car and head off to explore a few tiny roads that we had more or less “tucked away” for just such a day. What fun it was.
We eventually wound our way to Fuzeta and found that a couple of small cafes on the large main square near the sea were opened, Spontaneously we decided to park ourselves comfortably in the sunshine, have a snack and bica, which morphed into a beer and a couple of hours of people watching, basically reflecting on things and planning (mais ou menos) for other things.
We’ve just returned home, enjoyed a tea on our upstairs terrace and will probably settle in to do some reading (me), painting (Marc), and simply enjoy the tranquility of the Quinta and the balance of January 1st.
Happy New Year to everyone.
