This pandemic has taken a toll on all of us in so many different ways, probably much of the real impact is yet to be discovered. For Marc and myself the most significant impact was our inability to head off to Portugal last winter! In the end it wasn’t so bad experiencing a Canadian winter for the first time in many years, a mild one by most estimations from our friends. We’ve survived to tell the tale and I feel we’ve grown more flexible and resilient as a result of the experience.
We both believe that Covid, like so many diseases from previous times, is here to stay in some form and, like many others, will be controlled with vaccines, changing of habits, etc.. We’ve done our part and will continue to do what we need to do in order to keep ourselves, and those around us, safe.
That said, we are ready to get out there and live life again as every day on this earth is a gift and sitting around waiting for something to end, that might never end in our lifetime, seems like a waste of this wonderful gift we have been given. We’ve weighed all the pros and cons and we have decided that we will return to our wonderful Portugal winter again this year. We will fly from Montreal to Lisboa on November 22nd, train it to Faro and settle into our easy, happy, tranquil lifestyle that we appreciate so very much.
As I’m trying to decide whether or not I will continue to blog while there, and because I don’t know if my previous “audience” has been carried forward with this new version of WordPress, I’m asking you to send me a quick note at email@example.com to let me know that you have received this and whether or not you want me to leave you on my list. In the meantime, a few fall photos from my walks of the last two days.
Till we meet again…….in Portugal!
