Picture it. Early morning, all the doors and windows wide open. Sheets flapping gently in the breeze. Birds flitting and chirping in all the shrubs and trees near the house. And two very happy Canadian boys, doing their happy dances and giggling like a couple of teenagers. The sun, warmth, and pleasure of our Portugal paradise have returned with a vengeance. Suddenly, it’s as if the last two weeks didn’t even happen.
Following breakfast we took a walk down to the recycle/garbage bins. As it turned out, we were overdressed, at least Marc was! The hoodie was promptly removed and we wandered back towards home, with a small excursion on to a private property where we’d noted a For Sale sign but the drive was blocked with a chain and padlock. We discovered we could climb over a small retaining wall and go explore, and we did.

We were scheduled to meet friends for lunch at 12h30 and as it was simply too magnificent to sit inside doing nothing we headed off to explore. Today we drove down a number of dead end roads, intentionally, to see what might be down there, stopping each time to get out, wander about, take a few photos, and mostly, soak in both the sun and the view. By the time we reached our final destination it was 22,5 degrees. My battery is almost recharged!

Lunch was great fun. We were meeting up with our friends, Marcel and Oneta, who have Marcel’ brother, sister, and brother in law, visiting from Quebec. As always, it’s so great to meet new folks, share in a conversation, meal, and get to know one another, and of course, spend time with old friends we enjoy.

I was so busy stuffing my hungry face I forgot to take photos of all the food. Desculpa

Marcel, Oneta, Jean-Pierre, Lise, et Gilles. A lovely group and happily we’ll see them again on Monday as Oneta and Marcel have invited us for dinner. Yahoo!!
Marc and I left the restaurant full and content. We headed onward to take care of a grocery shop then home to take in, and fold our freshly laundered sheets and clothing. I can only imagine the scent later!!!
Here’s a little video Marc made just for your viewing pleasure. He was wandering along a lovely old country road, breathing in the fresh air and soaking up the sun. He thought he’d love to share it with you. Enjoy.
Great video love the music
Thanks David, Marc loves contributing them to my blogs, it knocks them up a notch!
I love your lavender recycle bag. So I’m reading about you hopping over this small retaining wall and I go down to the next line thinking I’m going to be reading about what you saw on the property and what it looked like. But no, topic was abruptly cut off. LOL
That cat looks like velvet. What a pretty kitty.
I liked the picture of the two dogs with the house and the view. Very lovely.
A lovely picture of your friends.
It was so nice to see the sunshine there and the flowers popping up and oh my goodness, the buttercups were absolutely everywhere! Thanks for the video Mr Marco, the music was up being fun as well.
Love and hugs from me.
Yes, I guess I did leave that story line hanging didn’t I? LOL. Nothing to report, we got to the top of the drive way only to find another barricade, this one with a big sign saying NO Trespassing. We thought it best to turn back, and so we did. We too enjoyed very much the sunshine although it is heavy fog and raining again tonight…….it won’t last.
Wonderful to have the sunshine back, an adventure, a delicious lunch with friends and clean sheets air dried….sounds like a terrific day in Paradise! Marc’s video had me doing a happy dance in my heart and it put a spring in my step as I look out and see lovely sunshine here and a sea of white!!!! Br-r-r-r!!!! Already looking forward to my garden!
Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy, me and John Denver!!!
