There isn’t much to be said about todays excursion that hasn’t already been told. It’s Saturday, which means Olhão market day, a place we love to go, a market we enjoy visiting as it allows us to do a bit of local shopping, and also, it’s evolved into a place and time where we usually meet up with many of our friends who are also wintering here, or visiting here, or live here!!! Today was no different, perhaps with the exception of a few new faces.
We both love to stop, just before the market buildings, and breath it all in. Quite a few artisans here todayIt was a cool morning but sure did warm upI love watching all the happy shoppersAmazing paella. We’ve never seen him here before. The scent…..WOWSERS!Tulips, I always think of my sister BeverleySuch beautiful coloursOur Saturday morning ritual……Marc loves shopping for themMadam was rearranging her basket of flowers.Freesia, I always think of my sister JoAnn..Rich scented garlic olives and lovely fresh laurel leaves

A grand time of connecting, reconnecting, catching up, and sharing in fun conversations, some folks just meeting others for the first time. I love to watch people find connections, then they’re off and running. Twas a great day and we were there long enough today to watch most of the vendors dismantle, I think that might be a first.
In closing, a couple of shots I took today that I was happy to capture.
I always take some time for a relaxing view of the activity on the sea This fellow was humming to himself and quite oblivious to all the market activity
If we didn’t already have dinner plans for this evening, I think we too would have ordered it. They both looked fabulous, and the scent. I can close my eyes now and smell it.
Another wonderful Olhão Market experience! Your photos and commentaries take me back there immediately! But all the great smiles on everyone’s faces you encounter warms my heart!
I would have been tempted to buy some paella and flowers! 😀
We, too, were tempted by both those things but as we had dinner plans, we passed. Maybe next Saturday if he is there. It looked, and smelled, wonderful.
It warms my heart that they bring you such pleasure. I so enjoy seeing them, never tire of them,, and probably never will. I hope some of your heaps of snow have started to melt away. Big Hugs
Those paellas looked fabulous. I bet Gary would be up for a sample.
