History Repeats Itself

Marco is still not feeling well and consequently, we’ve been keeping close to home and relaxing on our terrace, soaking up the heat from that lovely golden orb, that seems to be here to stay, and since yesterday, enjoying time with Laurie and Rico.

Laurie and Rico arrived mid afternoon and I don’t think we have stopped chatting since then. A wonderful afternoon and evening, great dinner, then we all fell into bed listening to the winds pummeling all the trees outside.

Our clocks changed last night, yes, daylight savings time is a few weeks later than North America, and of course that throws me off for a few days. Following a wonderful breakfast of fresh cheese, (fig and almond, almond and honey, and natural), along with local strawberries, fig and walnut toast, and local lemon marmalade, Laurie, Rico and I headed off to enjoy a walk to, and along, Barril Beach.

Speaking of brave people swimming in the sea………just have a look at this…….

We walked for quite a distance and a funny story………Laurie saw a man walking down the beach and she thought he was wearing a tiny bikini…..that is until he got closer and she realized he was completely naked!!! Being every so lady like, she averted her eyes and continued along as if this was a common day occurrence!!

We satisfied ourselves with roughly 5 km of beach/sand walking then headed back to the restaurant terraces where we enjoyed a libation, some snacks, and a few giggles.

Satiated with sun, walking, and conversation we headed back towards the mainland and our car. We arrived home to fresh guacamole compliments of Marc, a relaxing visit on our terrace and right now, everybody is off doing their own thing as no cooking tonight……Frango da Ria!!

A fabulous Sunday in the Algarve…….
