An early morning drive to Praia do Vale de Centeanes, a beautiful beach near Carvoeiro, where we left my car, a quick return to Praia da Marinha, near Caramujeira, then Debbie, Fred, and I headed off on foot to hike the “Seven Hanging Valleys Trail”. It couldn’t have been more perfect with a 23 degree day, clear blue skies, and a lovely cool breeze, which kept us company the entire 2 hours and 31 minutes it took to accomplish 8,09 km.
For me it was the first time hiking the trail in this particular direction, in each of my other excursions I’ve always completed it in the opposite direction. I think I found this direction a bit more challenging, which is not a bad thing.

I was surprised today by the number of hikers although, it’s one of the first times where I noted that most folks were wearing appropriate footwear! A good thing.
Debbie and Fred are both great hiking companions, and in my times hiking with them, they seem very self motivated and happy to be out and about BUT……today Debbie was additionally motivated by the view……..look closely.

OK< here, I’ll help you out…..

Fred was kind enough to take this souvenir shot for her!!! What a wonderful husband huh? LOL
All kidding aside, what a gorgeous hike this is with every turn providing a WOW moment.

I was happy to see that the trail has been “upgraded” with the occasional boardwalk, railing, and resting area. The signage is still lacking and you had to really take time to find the trail from time to time, but that’s part of the fun and experience.

This area is also home to the Benagil Sea Caves and the number of kayakers, boats, and other watercraft was heavier than I’ve ever seen it before. The excited screaming of many of the passengers as they hit waves was total competition with the gulls.

We took our time, paid a lot of attention to our footing but stopped frequently to take in the views, have water, and allow ourselves to really enjoy the experience.

All in all it was another wonderful day and hike, that will stick in my mind for some time. All three of us commented on the fabulous views, this part of the Portugal coastline is breathtaking, and how happy we were to have been able to do this on such a beautiful day.
And, I saw my first poppies today…..just for you PM

Beautiful shots of another excellent adventure. Mother Nature didn’t disappoint!
Not to mention that tattooed youngster…LOL
A very favourite hike. What a super sunny day. What’s next!?
Only time will tell
A spectacular day for such a wonderful hike! Great photos, especially my beloved poppies! Looking forward to more during the season! Thank you!
I’m pretty certain that once the next rains have passed (arriving later tonight until Saturday) the poppies will POP!!! Photos, of course, will be forthcoming.
Oh my goodness, what beautiful scenery! Randy I was not getting your blogs! Even if I went and look for them they weren’t coming up for me and so I was chatting with Pat tonight and she mentioned something about your blog this morning and I questioned her on it and said that I have not had a Blog since your garden party blog. So between her and now Beverly sent me another one that I’m going to read after this one. I don’t know what’s going on. I did nothing and I’ve checked my spam. Nothing in there either. I was wondering why you weren’t doing any blogs.
This one is absolutely beautiful. The scenery oh my gosh, it’s out of this world. And I’m not talking about the young guy with the naked chest, I could care less about him or anything he might want to flash me. LMAO but the colors of the water and the sky and then the cliffs and the caves, absolutely amazing. What a wonderful experience to have. Love and hugs.
Hopefully you can work that out………I can try to add your email address again……message me with the address you want me to use.
