Easter Sunday

Happy Easter from the gloriously sunny Algarve.

Despite illness, today has been lovely. Quiet, peaceful, our hearts feel full, and life as we know it, simply grand.

Our trusty cherry red Panda Fiat somehow (I think it now knows the way without my steering) got us into Fuzeta where we parked, walked along the sea to a favourite patio and simply sat for some time, enjoying the lovely breeze, the international feel of our surroundings (we heard French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, British, and good old Canadian English), while sipping our beverages.

What a pleasant thing to simply “be” in the moment! No plans, no commitments, nothing to make us turn left or right, only to be able to be together, feel the sun on our skin, and just “be”.

Eventually we decided to walk across the boardwalk, try to find a place to enjoy some lunch and as luck would have it, we secured the very last table, tucked away in a corner, on the only terrace opened on the main square near the sea. It was meant to be.

We both ordered a shrimp/chicken kabob, a perfect choice, and wiled away a couple of hours in the shade. Eventually the sun made it’s way around to our side of the patio, a sign to pay the bill and move on. A slow drive up and across an exploration of mountain roads eventually arriving home.

We’re hoping to be feeling a bit better by tomorrow, this virus has really sent us spinning but, life as we know it is wonderful and we both like to live life by the rules of Gloria Gaynor…….I (We) Will Survive!
