I had a hike planned for today but the universe had other plans for me as all of my hiking compatriots bailed on me. Yup, every one of them! I took that as a crystal clear message from the universe to adjust my expectations, take a slower, lazier, and probably, wiser sort of day for myself. Everything happens for a reason.

Marc was all prepared for a day of “work” in his make-shift office, he was just about to take his mid morning “coffee break” when I was ready to head out the door.

My plan B was to drive into Estoi, park, then wander, specifically in the cemetery, one of my favourite pastimes. I wandered up and down all the rows, reading the headstones, making up stories about people, all the while enjoying the quietude, the tranquility, and as always, the birdsong. Before I knew it I’d been there for an hour and a half! Time to head to the main square and enjoy a bica before a period of wandering in Estoi.

I popped into the quinta to have a little visit with James, whom we’ve not seen much of lately, and while there, spotted Aus and Sue. I love knowing folks here and being able to enjoy a quick catch-up, a friendly smile, it’s very heartwarming.

Once home Marc and I spontaneously wound our way over to the main square in São Brás, where there is a pizza kiosk, a place we’ve never stopped before. We ordered pizzas than sat till they were delivered, devoured them, and made it back home just as a few raindrops started to fall. All in all a delightful day……and now, tea and my book!!! Yahoo
You had an interesting day meandering here and there, to and fro. Lovely to tag along with you
How nice it would have been to have you right there beside me!
